artificial nails – pros and cons?!?

Hi, I'm doing my nails at a salon on Thursday and I'm not really sure what I want. Me 'm getting to do because they simply do not have time to maintain my natural (beautiful, long, semi-strong, square nails). I've had acrylic before but I'm hearing good things pink and white, gels, and silk wraps. What are the pros and cons of each? Can you also tell me that I go to see photos of each example? i have solar nails. I have flashing white tips. that last longer and not have to file your nails therefore.
