Ideas for decorating the reception?

Wedding on the beach so it is likely that one of the outdoor restaurants of the hotel. I was thinking in paper lanterns, if possible, maybe the lights shine (a little corny, even wrapped in tulle), a set of cream colored candles instead of flowers centers (cheap). I do not know exactly what they're called, but I was thinking about things that go on paper sails, anyone know the name? They seem a little paper bags. It will be in Cancun, so it can not bring too much of me. Any ideas would be good.

The item you are thinking about is luminaria – very traditional Hispanic countries, for certainly appropriate if you are planning a destination wedding in Cancun. The thing to consider is how wind is near / in the ocean and blowing out candles on a project very easily. Consider LED tealights in their luminary. Lasting more than enough hours and you never have to worry about them blowing or burning nothing. They are smaller, lighter than candles and easily package. Put the sand at the base of the luminary bag with the weight down and put the LED candle in the sand. All you have to make LED lights – easier than trying to light the candles – and voila '! To add color and brilliance to the luminaria bags, buy some scalloped scissors and scrapbook punches in a craft store to cut the edges of the bag. Cut vertical slits around the bag, about 3 "from the edge and spaced a few inches apart and discount store thread pretty ribbon through the slots to cut the bag. Tie ribbon in a bow, taking careful not to gather or bunch of paper bag. You can put 3 bags of different heights on each table as its centerpiece.
