A gift for your guy on your wedding day
ByYour wedding day is one that you will not forget. It is traditional that the bride and groom buy each other gifts as a way of celebrating the beginning of their new life together. However, women often like gifts that shimmer and shine. Men on the other hand generally prefer a gift that is more practical and that they will be able to use on a regular basis. So this leaves the question of what to buy your groom for that special day.
When you just think about your man you’ll usually come up with an idea or two. A good idea is to make it personal. If he loves to play bartender and makes a mean martini, a personalized cocktail shaker is a fun gift that he can get a lot of use out of. If he’s more of an outdoorsy type, an engraved pocket knife is an interesting idea.
Cuff-links, like owning your own tuxedo isn’t something that gets used everyday but sure are handy to have when you need them. And better yet, you don’t outgrow cuff-links just because you’ve put on a few pounds over the years. Give him cuff-links for use on your big day and he’ll think of your wedding day every time he wears them.
For the man who loves to cook, you have an assortment of things from which to select. From grilling sets to the grill itself, there’ll be something your amateur can get great use out of. Throw in a cookbook about grilling or marinades and it will be a gift that he’ll think is smoking.
I went more formal when I got my husband his groom’s gift. I gave him a high end Seiko watch. The thing that is nice about watches is that you can find one certain to fit his lifestyle and personality while still fitting your budget. Consider engraving it with a short phrase and it will be your little secret.
The important thing is not to stress over a gift for your groom. Enjoy this tradition as part of the wedding process and also consider getting a personalized gift. There are several great on-line stores that do personalization without additional charge.
No matter what you get your guy, he’ll love you for the time you took to get him something that fits in with his hobbies and interests. Remember you are just starting your new life together and relax and enjoy every moment of your wedding day.
